1983 Gibson Flying V in Ebony finish. The Flying V series of guitars, which went on sale in 1958, is a well-known series of guitars that has been loved and still is to this day.
When it was first released, it did not become a standard due to its unique looks, but in the 1980s, it succeeded in capturing the hearts of guitar fans. The aggressive design matched the heavy metal music that was popular in the 1980s.
The biggest difference between this model and the previous Flying V is that the "Flying V 83" is pickguard-less. The pickguard-less designs of guitar makers such as Jackson and Kramer, which had become mainstream with the heavy metal boom, were the basic design of the Flying V.
This guitar has the original Gibson dirty fingers pick up in the neck & the bridge pickup has been replaced with an active EMG humbucker. Two of the pots have been replaced as well. This guitar has all the bumps & bruises one would expect of a 40 + year old instrument & come with a hardshell case.
