The D-35 was first introduced by Martin in 1965 as a way to use sets of rosewood that were not large enough for full size body construction, enter the 3 piece back.. It was the first new model from the company since the 1930's. By 1974, it was their top selling instrument, even over its better known sibling, the D-28. Even though the body size and wood combination is the same as the D-28, it has a distinct voice thanks to the lighter 1/4" top bracing. The D-35 model is very open and woody sounding and are among the best models from this era.
Here we have a beautiful 1975 D-35 in excellent condition, very, very minimal dings or scratched & finish checking that is just starting to show. I do not have a lot of information on the background of this instrument but appears to have had a neck reset & been refretted. Non original Martin Case is included.
